Are you looking for a warm, collaborative practice where you can do meaningful clinical work and build a career that fits your life?
If you value strong clinical work, professional autonomy, real work-life balance, and the chance to make a lasting difference in people's lives, we'd love to meet you.
About Mindology Counseling & Wellness
Mindology Counseling & Wellness is a licensed private group practice serving individuals, couples, and families from all walks of life. We support clients navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, life transitions, and other emotional and behavioral concerns.
Our goal goes beyond symptom management. We help people understand themselves more deeply, build meaningful skills, break patterns that keep them stuck, and create lasting change in their relationships and lives.
We believe that meaningful clinical work starts with taking care of the clinicians who provide it — which is the philosophy behind everything we do.
Why You'll Love Working Here
Joining Mindology means joining a team that genuinely values growth, autonomy, diversity, creativity, and purposeful clinical work.
We don't believe in one-size-fits-all therapy — or one-size-fits-all therapists. You'll have the freedom to build a professional identity that's authentically yours, backed by the support and camaraderie of a group practice.
Here's what that looks like in practice:
-
Build a caseload you're excited about — shaped by your clinical interests, expertise, and preferred populations
-
Design a schedule that actually works for you — one that supports your career and your life outside of work
-
Work with a rich, diverse client base across cultural and personal backgrounds
-
Deepen your clinical specialties with real support along the way
-
Grow — personally and professionally — in an environment built to help you thrive
-
Practice with genuine autonomy, while never feeling like you're on your own
-
Get real support building your caseload, especially as you're getting started
-
Collaborate with colleagues who share a commitment to trauma-informed, integrative, culturally responsive care
-
Bring creativity into your work, including mind-body approaches where it fits your training and scope of practice
We know that building a thriving caseload takes time, and we're looking for clinicians who are excited to grow with us — people who take initiative, bring ideas to the table, and are in it for the long run.
Who We're Looking For
We're especially drawn to clinicians who are thoughtful, curious, compassionate, and always eager to keep learning.
This role could be a great fit if you:
-
Value both independence and connection
-
Take initiative rather than waiting to be told what's next
-
Genuinely enjoy learning and sharpening your clinical skills
-
Want to build a caseload around what you're passionate about
-
Prioritize work-life balance and flexibility
-
Feel at home working with clients from diverse backgrounds and life experiences
-
Bring multicultural awareness and sensitivity to your clinical work
-
Are drawn to trauma-informed and/or mind-body approaches to treatment
-
Like to think creatively rather than follow a rigid clinical playbook
-
Understand that a strong caseload is built over time — and are ready to grow steadily with us
-
Enjoy contributing ideas and shaping things in an evolving group practice
Qualifications
Required:
-
Master's degree or higher in counseling, social work, psychology, marriage and family therapy, or a related behavioral health field
-
Active clinical license in Washington, D.C. and/or Maryland, as applicable (e.g., LGPC, LGSW, LCPC, LCSW, LMFT, Psy.D., Ph.D., or equivalent)
-
Professional liability insurance
-
Strong clinical, communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills
-
Ability to work effectively with clients across diverse cultural, racial, socioeconomic, gender, sexual orientation, and personal backgrounds
-
A genuine commitment to ethical, culturally responsive, trauma-informed care
Preferred (nice to have, not required):
-
At least one year of clinical experience
-
Experience with trauma, addiction/substance use, children and adolescents, or other specialized populations
-
Training in EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), or other trauma-focused modalities
-
Experience or interest in integrative, somatic, mindfulness-based, or mind-body approaches
-
Interest in developing a clinical niche or specialty within the practice
Schedule & Working Conditions
Both part-time and full-time opportunities are available.
You'll have real flexibility in shaping your schedule, with daytime, evening, and weekend hours available. We do ask that clinicians offer at least one evening or weekend shift to help meet client demand.
Depending on your licensure, availability, and practice needs, you may see clients:
-
Virtually
-
In person
-
In a hybrid mix of both
We want your schedule to be sustainable — for your clients, and for you.
Compensation
Competitive compensation, commensurate with experience, licensure, specialty training, and clinical qualifications.
We'll walk through compensation structure, caseload expectations, and available practice support in detail during the interview process.
Grow With Us
At Mindology, we believe therapists do their best work when they have the room to grow — not just as clinicians, but as people.
We want you to feel like you're building something real here: a fulfilling career, a clinical identity that's genuinely your own, and a body of work you're proud of.
If you're looking for a practice where your individuality is welcomed, your growth is supported, and your work truly matters — we'd love to hear from you.
